Melissa
I’ve always been curious about why the body responds the way it does. Living with autoimmunity, OCD, and ADHD — and then navigating motherhood in my forties— revealed how deeply connected our hormones, nervous system, and gut truly are.

When my youngest was diagnosed with celiac disease at five, our household changed overnight. Helping him heal—sealing a leaky gut, calming neuroinflammation, balancing the microbiome, and regulating the nervous system—led our entire family to embrace a gluten-free lifestyle. I soon discovered that gluten had been fueling my own autoimmune flares, and removing it transformed my health as well.

Meanwhile, my older child showed gut-brain challenges of her own: sluggish digestion, abdominal discomfort, and OCD and ADHD traits that required deep gut healing—eradicating pathogens, repairing the gut lining, and calming the vagus nerve.

And because life loves complexity, my husband developed Alpha-Gal syndrome—a severe tick-borne meat allergy—adding yet another layer to our family’s food and lifestyle puzzle.

These experiences shaped me as deeply as my credentials. I’m a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P), Certified Gluten-Free Practitioner, and Biomagnetic Therapy Practitioner.
At Gray Owl Wellness, I use functional lab testing to uncover what’s really happening beneath the surface and design protocols that fit real life. My work is about turning instinct into action—helping families decode symptoms no one else can explain, restore gut health and microbiome balance, calm the nervous system, and move from just getting by to taking flight.

Before any testing is ordered, we take a comprehensive look at your health history, symptoms, stress patterns, environment, and family dynamics. This in-depth intake allows us to identify the most meaningful root causes and determine which functional labs will provide real answers—rather than unnecessary data. From there, we use targeted testing to bring clarity, connect the dots, and build a practical, personalized healing plan you can actually follow.
